20th Century Pair of Italian Silver embossed with figures Lamps
About the Item
Pair of "Cariatidi" lamps in 800 silver. Completely hand-carved and embossed with scrolls motifs.
Each part of the lamp has been finely embossed and chiseled by hand.
The central part, with a flattened sphere, has been embossed and knurled to highlight the chisel workmanship of volutes and shells, typical of the Baroque period.
There were also added parts in "fusion" welded to the central body to make the structure of the lamp itself more important and stable.
The lamps are subsequently refinished with a lacquer to allow their unalterable conservation over time.
Measure: First lamp is height cm. 41.5, diameter cm. 16,5 1,860 grams
Second lamp is height 42.5, diameter cm. 16,5 1.870 grams
The lamps do not have the same exactly height because they are completely made by hand in two different periods. 1968 and 1969
Italian silverware, already with a centuries-old tradition, had a great development in the twentieth century and produced pieces of the highest quality that the whole world envies. Italian craftsmanship had a kind of new Renaissance after the war.
A great many high-quality silverware was born where exceptional pieces were produced that now decorate the most prestigious houses.
