Alberto Donà Mid-Century Modern Gold Red Two of Murano Glass Table Lamps, 1984
About the Item
Designed in 1984, this lamp is composed of a milky white base, which recalls the color of the cup. There, a light bulb is inserted that gives off a very soft light thanks to the opacity of the white Murano glass. The two pieces are joined by a red sphere, which is made with the 24-karat gold technique, as you can see from the photos of the details of the lamp. Despite being a very simple lamp, gold red in contrast with white, make the sphere seem almost a precious stone illuminated by a beautiful soft light. The white of the lamp makes it very simple and suitable for any type of design. It measures 42 in height and it has a diameter of 22 cm considering only glass.

Alberto Donà
Alberto Donà, born in Italy in 1944, began working in the glass field at the age of 13 and became known for his ability with colors and creativity in generating unique combinations, hence his valued collaborations with important companies such as Venini, Saporiti that have relied on Donà for glass accessories. In October 2001, he had a one-man show at the Vassel Art Gallery in London. He was selected to furnish the lighting for the Hiroshima Memorial Museum.
