Angelo Brotto (1914 - 2002) is an Italian artist and designer recognized for his lighting and his work on glass. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice in 1941, he began his career painting frescoes in Montenegro commissioned by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. But his success comes above all from his collaboration with Esperia in the 1960s and 1970s. He designed many lights for the Murano glassmaker. His lamps with modern, playful and artistic shapes quickly met with great success, breaking with traditional methods of glass making in Murano. Angelo Brotto then participated in numerous Biennials and his creations, resolutely atypical and contemporary, are regularly exhibited.
