Art Deco Styled Accent or Television Lamp with Cast Gilt Figural Elephants
About the Item
This Art Deco styled figural accent or 'television lamp' is unsigned, but presumed to have been made in the United States in the 1950s in the Art Deco style. The lamp has a black rectangular marble base and an upright painted metal shade. On either side of the shade are cast metal elephants with raised trunks sitting on a ball such as those associated with circus performances. The casting are quite detailed and have a gilt patina. The lamp has a small turn switch mounted to the front of the base.
