About the Item

Ceramic midcentury lamp by Boch Freres Keramis vase, 1960s. Beautiful midcentury lamp by Boch Frères with geometrical patterns and very modern colours. The enamel is slightly grainy with a beautiful shine. The tapered shape gives it a great elegance. The ceramic measures 23 cm, 41 cm with the lampshade. The diameter of the ceramic is 9 cm. The lamp is in very good condition. Signed under the base. circa 1960. --------------------------- Royal Boch is an earthenware factory located in La Louvière, Belgium. Founded in 1841, it markets its products under the name Keramis. The factory was founded in 1841 by Eugène and Victor Boch, descendants of a family of earthenware makers since the 18th century. Production, which began in 1844, grew rapidly. Kéramis took part in the Universal Exhibition in Paris. During the 19th century, Dutch craftsmen were hired. Charles Catteau was hired at the end of 1906 as a draughtsman (creation and painting of decorations) and quickly became head of the decoration department. We owe him a significant production of Art Deco products. Anna Boch and her younger brother Eugène Boch, impressionist painters, took over to paint on the ceramics and draw the designs of the new productions.

French ceramic lamp Mid-Century Modern by Albert Thiry, 1960s, era Blin One beautiful glazed ceramic bedside lamp with an engraved and hand-painted flower decor. It is a very beautiful work of glaze, soft and silky, all in delicacy. The dark clay is covered with a glaze in the white-chalk and green-water tones loved by the ceramist. The flower motifs are engraved leaving the clay visible under the clear glaze. Ochre-red tones come to warm up the whole. In very good condition.
