Classic Vintage Streamline RCA "on Air" Art Deco / Machine Age Studio Light
About the Item
The most iconic “on air” sign warning lights were made by RCA Victor in the 1930s. When radio and television stations were creating live programs, they had to have a signal to let everyone know that they were rolling, and not to interrupt. The body is cast aluminum, with stylized “speed stripes” on the sides. The face is solid glass, with raised lettering. This one has an original paper stock number label on the back of the glass. Inside the light there is a decal with the RCA logo. This one is completely original with the original lighting source still in place – New wiring has also been added. It looks great and displays wonderfully.
