Crystal Art Deco Trumpet Style Pair of Table Lamps circa 1925

About the Item

Art Deco shape, style and sparkling faceted cut crystal create a lighting statement in this pair of lamps circa 1925 to 1940. They were produced in the U.S. or France. The condition is quite good, and the lamps present beautifully. Their appearance is somewhat delicate, but they are deceptively heavy and sturdy. One of the lamps has a quirky knob for turning which we have ;left in place. They both work perfectly and create quite the "light show" when they are turned on from the lower and upper portions of the lamps. The lamps have an hourglass or trumpet shape and circular section with a molded fluted waist. The crystal is clear and reflective. There is a cross-hatched pattern at the neck and on the domed foot of the circular brass base. The finials are add-ons and not original, although lovely. These lamps deserve a second look. You will not see them again at this price point! The lamps are 29 inches overall height, and the base is 7 inches wide. They measure 19 inches from the base to the socket. One of the major features is the lighting is the light in the base of each lamp and three-way switches that illuminate the base of the lamp. This is a great example of the period and art deco form. The pair make an incredible lighting statement and will increase the appeal and elegance of your living space.

Rewired: One lamp required wiring, which was done by Lamp Specialties in West Los Angeles. Repaired: One of the sockets has been replaced and the lamp has been rewired by Lamp Specialties in West Los Angeles.. The lamp parts otherwise are all original. The pair was acquired at auction. Wear consistent with age and use. The lamps have different on/off knobs, which are original to the way I purchased them. One switch is the typical type, and the other is a large tan rubber knob that is quite novel, different. It could be changed out.
