A beautiful pair of Bohemian Girandoles (Candelabrums) with Cranberry & Clear Crystal made in the in
country of Czechoslovakia.
There are no cracks, breaks or repairs to the glass.
Please note that the candelabrums will ship partially disassembled and easily reassembled.
Bohemia turned out expert craftsmen who artfully worked with crystal. Bohemian crystal became famous for its excellent cut and engraving. They became skilled teachers of glassmaking in neighboring and distant countries. By the middle of the 19th century, a technical glass-making school system was created that encouraged traditional and innovative techniques as well as thorough technical preparation.
Czechoslovakia, Czech and Slovak Ceskoslovenske, former country in central Europe encompassing the historical lands of Bohemia, Moravia, and Slovakia. Czechoslovakia was formed from several provinces of the collapsing empire of Austria-Hungary in 1918, at the end of World War I. In the interwar period it became the most prosperous and politically stable state in eastern Europe.
Czech crystal chandeliers could be found in the palaces of the French king Louis XV, Maria Theresa, Empress of Austria, and Elizabeth of Russia.
