Medusa table lamp, Roberto Pamio, Leucos, 1967
About the Item
The "Medusa" lamp is an iconic design from Roberto Pamio for Leucos edited in 1967. This early edition posses still his original push switch. The base is in cast aluminuim. The globe in blown Murano glass. Both material contrast by their density, fragility and colour.
Following this design, Roberto Pamio had also the same idea as his first design for Leucos, the "Gill" in 1962. It is made of a globe with its face flatten and whiten to make a diffuser out of its own piece of glass.
As it's the crossroad between industrialization, craftsmanship and tradition, this blown glass Murano globe's thickness is proof of its quality.
Roberto Pamio is the Spearhead of Leucos along with the Toso brothers & Sister. Lots of models came later made by Leucos'own design labo but nothing ever compared to their first years of production where lines and design were their first preoccupation..
