About the Item

Large and heavy French modernist Art Deco table lamp most probably designed by Jean Boris Lacroix and executed in his atelier in the 1930s in France. Typical for the Art Deco period it has a chromed and nickeled brass metal cascading lamp base with a center sphere globe and a clear glass tube lampshade with satin finish which rests loose in its base. Wiring, plug and french bajonet fitting have been replaced at a later point of time, now the lamp is fine working and ready to use. It takes one E 27 bulb to illuminate. When lit it exudes a warm glow which gives a nice and pleasant atmosphere. The authentic and gorgeous lamp which is 46 cm / 18.11 inches tall, base width of 14,5 cm / 5.71 inches, lampshade width 12 cm / 4.72 inches, stays in very good vintage condition with minor characteristic wear consistent with age and use. This high quality timeless and functional beauty is a highlight, an upgrade and a perfect addition to an Art Deco interior with modern lighting by Desny and Perzel. The French designer Jean-Boris Lacroix was best known in the 1930s, as he is today, as a designer of lighting fixtures. This lamp consists of a circle, a sphere, and a cylinder that takes the place of a traditional lampshade.
