Pair of 1930s Italian Neoclassical Parcel-Gilt Candleholder Table Lamps
About the Item
A pair of 1930s Italian neoclassical-style parcel-gilt plaster and wood candleholder table lamps.
Stately architectural form of stylized urn body with a trio of candleholders on a stepped and angled base. Plaster over hand-carved wood, with a nicely aged gesso finish and lovely gilt decorations and details. Exceptional craftsmanship throughout, with a handsome heft and presence.
Slender patinated brass rod in back extends up and bends forward to support vintage hardware and socket centered over lamp body. With newer in-line switch wiring and rectangular empire shade.
Height is to top of socket. Height to top of body is 20”, and to top of finial is 34.25”.
