About the Item
I’m pleased to announce I have acquired yet another unhealthy infatuation. This time, Vallauris ceramics.
Vallauris is a city on the French Riviera blessed with large clay deposits. For centuries potters from the area have been making practical glazed pots and vessels for the kitchen. Then our old mate Picasso rocks up in in the late 40’s and shit got weird. These 50’/60’s lamps feature the recognisable green glaze usually seen on ‘woven’ bowls and rarely on lighting.
A pair of 1950/60 Vallauris lamps freshly rewired with one small chip in the glaze.
Sourced in Lyon France and located in Wollongong Australia.
