Pair of Large Scale French 19th Century Louis XV St. Ormolu Candelabra Lamps
About the Item
A stunning and extremely high quality true pair of large scale French 19th century Louis XV st. ormolu candelabra lamps. Each seven arm candelabra is raised by a beautiful wonderfully executed scalloped shaped base with a fine fluted mottled border with three stunning seashells and an impressive richly chased array of scrolled foliate designs. The candelabra to the left depicts a beautiful maiden with a child at her side amidst a beautiful overflowing cornucopia with an exquisite and most unique lizard while the candelabra to the right depicts a handsome man holding a woman in his arms with a baby at their feet. Each is holding on to the spectacular tapered foliate support leading up to the seven exquisite scrolled foliate arms seemingly growing upwards. Each of the arms displays a most decorative movement and is adorned with beautiful richly chased foliate designs and leaves leading to delicate candle cups with charming finely detailed blooming flowers.
