Pair of Murano Glass Table Lamps
About the Item
Pair of large Mid-Century Modern Murano glass table lamps, Venini style and quality. Italy 1960s.
The neoclassical style lamps are entirely made of Murano glass: a black opaque Murano glass base and a large clear with gold inclusions top vase, nesting the light.
The top vase is decorated with the Rigadin Murano glass technique: consisting in delicate spiral ribs on the surface of the glass, making it translucent.
The pair of Murano lamps has been professionally rewired for the US. One Medium base ( E26) light each.
The gold leaf murano glass creates a warm halo of light with a translucent effect.
They are attributed to Venini, one of the most famous murano glass-maker of the Venetian peninsula.
