Pair of Tibetan Hand Hammered Brass Lamps with Glass Jewels

About the Item

Stunning pair of hand hammered Tibetan brass lamps with glass jewels, etched and applied details, and new black Fenchel drum shades. Beautiful condition with wear as you would expect with vintage pieces. Very handmade, new wiring, and sockets with hidden bulb to luminate jewels together or individually. Please see photos, Circa 1950-1970’s.   WOW! Do we have a gem for you…actually, we have TWO!! Feast your eyes on this absolutely breathtaking pair of hand hammered brass lamps with gorgeous etched detail all over the body of the lamp and randomly applied beautiful details of elephants, dragons, Tibetan dancers, and more blended in with multicolored glass jewels inside hammered bezels…all around the body of the lamp… the incredible detail gives these lamps a unique and unmatchable appeal. There are two rings at the base of the neck that are actually two “kissing” fish which is a Chinese symbol for love and luck…and who couldn’t use a little more love and luck? We suspicion the figures represent the Chinese Zodiac. (this is per Scott) AND, they have a three-way switch so you can light up just the lamp, just the base, OR the lamp AND the base! They are wearing new black Fenchel drum shades with gold foil inner lining and they just look magnificent!! They are Chinese or Tibetan in style and would be striking in your bedroom on your nightstands, or in your living room on the side tables next to your sofa, or on either end of a console or sofa table in your entry or dining room! Honestly, they will just add brilliance to any room you choose to use them. If you love them as much as we do, you should make them yours…before we change our minds!! Awesome Kila red dog rolling table lamp designed by Harry Allen for Ikea. It is in wonderful vintage condition. We have provided a new plug adapter. Please see photos, circa 2001. Ok I never thought I would say IKEA and original awesome design in the same sentence but here you have it! This incredible table task lamp was designed in 2001 exclusively for Ikea by Harry Allen designs. He and it won accolades worldwide for its fabulous design. Harry’s inspiration for this rolling task light was his life-long interest in roller skating. Its tripod base is supported by rubber wheels which allow it to move in circles. Designer, Harry Allen is quoted as saying “Kila spins on its axis as if it had been practicing that move in the roller rink for decades.” This bright red lamp is so reminiscent of 1960s cutting edge design yet feels futuristic at the same time. And although it originally sold for IKEAs super low pricing has now as with the great designs through the ages become collectable and sought after. Harry Allen is an award winning designer born1964 in New Jersey. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Alfred University and his master’s in Industrial Design from Pratt Institute in NYC. He founded Harry Allen Design NYC in 1993. That same year he produced a line of furniture called Living Systems and since has designed internationally with a wide variety of clients and products. He has work in the permanent collection of MoMA, the Brooklyn Museum of Art, the Denver Museum of Art and the Philadelphia Museum of Art as well as earning many design awards. We found this lamp sitting atop a George Nelson action...
