About the Item
White ceramic "Sportsman Panther" TV lamp signed "Kron" designed by Howard Kron for the Texans Incorporated Company, circa 1955. This lamp features a large black panther on top of a Mid-century style base with white accents.
TV lamps were invented and became popular in the 1950s with affordability and popularity of television to the American Middle Class. The lamps were an accent lamp designed to help eliminate eye strain associated with watching early low luminosity TVs. Now, these beautifully designed lamps work great as a decorative table lamp.
