Large Antique Victorian 1880 Oak Floor Standing Mirror Original Glass
About the Item
We are delighted to offer stunning original plate glass Victorian mirror with hand carved barley twist oak frame from a grand Lake District estate
This mirror really is impressive, believe it or not it’s actually an over mantle mirror, can you imagine the size of the room that needs a two meter tall overmantel mirror!
The condition is exquisite, the glass is free from cracks and has some light patination or foxing as we would hope, I think its mercury glass as it has that great bluish hew to it, naturally I’ve had the reflection changed in the pictures but in real life it is a wonderful colour
The timber has all been deep cleaned, hand condition waxed and hand polished, it is a very good thing that looks expensive, grand and important in any setting
