Arts and Crafts Mahogany Overmantel in the Manner of George Jack

About the Item

An Arts and Crafts mahogany overmantel in the manner of George Jack with exceptional carved details central bevelled mirror and wonderful hand formed copper panels by James Smithie depicting scantily dressed Maidens, signed JS '96. James Smithie were important metalworkers from the Arts and Crafts period. There work was exhibited widely and shown in The Studio Magazine (a periodical from the period) a number of times.
