Very Rare and Fine Pair of 19th Century Giltwood Mirrors
About the Item
A very rare and fine pair of 19th century giltwood mirrors. The mirror glass plate is set within a beautifully hand carved, moulded and shaped giltwood frame of rectangular form with ribbon, foliate, egg and dart border motif detail. Surmounted with an intricately, pierced cartouche composition of an arrangement of Neoclassical motifs, comprising of scrolls, quiver of arrows, flaming torch, flowerheads, ribbon and bow motif detail flanked with trailing foliate, all exquisitely carved in high relief.
