  • White Marble Gem Coffee Table with Brass Base by Slash Objects
    By Slash Objects
    Located in Brooklyn, NY
The Gem table features a calacatta marble tabletop supported with brass finish legs. The irregular shape allows the table to have a different appearance from each angle. The geometrical shape of the tabletop is enhanced with the gold veining of the marble. The brass legs are an extension of the marble top, reflecting the space and allowing the marble to levitate above. There is no hardware used to hold the piece together, rather precision fitting and engineering allows for the parts to rely upon one another to exist. The table can function both as a side table or a coffee table. Each piece may be unique in shape as this table is made from irregular marble remnants...

  • Vanity Mirror Sculptural Construction w/ Paintings and Found Objects
    By John Seubert
    Located in Chicago, IL
Self-taught artist John Seubert, AKA John Dolly, uses objects he uncovers as he rehabs older homes in Chicago. This piece is constructed with a small framed mirror and a shoe form from which two portraits emerge. The small portraits are cut in the shape of the head. The back carries the inscription of the title. John Seubert The Mythologist found objects 20.50H x 8.50W x 8D in 52.07H x 21.59W x 20.32D cm JSE042 In the early Nineties, John Seubert was living in a former hotel in a high-rise building on St. James Place in Chicago. The apartment was tiny, as hotel rooms tend to be, and clad with paper-thin walls allowing sound to pass from one apartment to the other. At the time, John’s artwork consisted of pounding copper sheets into tables which was a noisy endeavor to say the least. Following several noise complaints from the neighbors, John had a dream that he was living in a ramshackle house but with plenty of room to work and no attached neighbors. The following day after lunching at the McDonalds in Lincoln Park, John wandered the neighborhood a came upon a shabby, falling-down old Victorian house. He located the real estate agent...
