18th Century Queen Anne Walnut and Giltwood Mirror, circa 1750
About the Item
18th Century Queen Anne Walnut and Giltwood Mirror, circa 1750, an elegant period mirror having a broad crown with fluted border and slightly curved backwards, with applied carved and gilded foliate arabesque scrolls, above a rectangular frame with carved and gilded filet holding the mirrored glass panel, over a fluted apron with conforming gilded applique.
The frame remains in very good condition with only a small amount of loss to the applique that is not particularly noticeable and must be searched for. The walnut and giltwood have attained a lovely warm patina.
