An impressive and monumentally scaled Italian 19th century Louis XVI st. giltwood and hand painted mirror. The original mirror plate is set within a striking most decorative wraparound twisted ribbon band with unique and most decorative painted forest green accents. The frame displays exquisite most decorative blue and red hand painted interlocking double helix like designs with charming rosettes set within richly carved Coeur de Rai and Les Oves bands with an exceptional foliate border and striking block reserves at each corner set on a beautiful red background. All original gilt throughout.
