Late 19th century large empire style painted gilt wood wall mirror or trumeau
Large rectangular mirror with architectural structure: the central field, consisting of a lower mirror field and upper decorative cartouche, is flanked by a pair of fluted pillars of Corinthian order, which support the architrave with terminating large corniche. A special feature of the mirror is the extention of the pillars on the front side around the corners and the sides are also designed.
The rectangular cartouche above the mirror with a neo-classical decorative console showing a basket with a lavish flower bouquet surrounded by a flower and foliage garland and rural tools.
The Empire style mirror is made of carved wood painted in French Green and gilding of the decorative elements.
Mirror size: H. 43,5 cm x W.75 cm
Impressive, extremely decorative wall mirror with an elegant color scheme, which creates a wonderful eye-catcher above a fireplace or a highboard.
