About the Item
A most elegant and large scale pair of Italian early 19th century Neo-Classical st. Patinated wood, Mecca and Giltwood rectangular mirrors. The pair or mirrors retain their original double mirror plates surrounded by a lovely Coeur de Rai band and mottled interior band. The rectangular frames display fanciful and richly carved scrolled giltwood and Mecca foliate designs, with the bottom of the mirror showcasing a central foliate reserve and the top a reserve of oak leaves flanked by scrolled carvings.
