About the Item

Pair of Louis XV Carved and Gilded 1700 Frames, two cartagloria for the Roman rite, shaped in carved wood lacquered in greenish gray and gilded at the edges, with praise for the sung mass in the center with watercolor borders with flowers and foliage. They are in good condition with two small misses consistent with the period, at the curl of one foot and at the left corner of the upper shell. Northern Italy, 1700. in Pine Wood Carved with scrolls and curl feet, these small Italian mirrors were originally called cartagloria, hand-carved and gilded wooden frames, art objects created for the liturgy, containing praise for the sung mass.
