About the Item
The Reflector Series of mirrors use the natural attributes and undulations of handmade glass to create a distinctive mirrored design that is both functional and stylish. The traditional “encalmo” technique fuses two different cups of color together to create the clean color line between the center and the perimeter band. Additionally, venetian cane and murrine techniques are used on the colored band combining hot and cold colors to encourage the mirror to spin out uniquely every time resulting in a distinctive shape and optic experience from every angle it's viewed at. Reflector Mirrors come furnished with mounting hardware suitable for install on standard wall surfaces and can be cleaned with standard glass cleaner and a soft cloth.

FurthurDesign is a line of modern glass objects and lighting handmade by William Couig in Brooklyn, NY. The work has an aesthetic steeped in the 70's vision of future that William was raised on in film and popular culture. Created using traditional Venetian techniques, the FurthurDesign line utilizes the natural attributes and tendencies of glass to create logical design concepts. While each grouping has machine-made qualities, they have distinctly hand blown features and an organic appeal.
