Scandinavian round rattan mirror white. This is a nice mirror made of white colored rattan. The mirror was probably produced in Denmark around 1960. It has a beautiful lived-in appearance and fits in with any interior due to its simple round design. Beautiful for your bedroom, bathroom or in the hall. Rattan Rattan, also spelled ratan, is the name for about 600 species of Old World climbing palms belonging to the Calamoideae subfamily. The greatest diversity of rattan palm species and genera is in the ancient closed-canopy tropical forests of Southeast Asia, although they can be found in other parts of tropical Asia and Africa as well. Most rattan palms are ecologically considered lianas because of their climbing habits, unlike other palm species. Although a few species also have tree-like or shrub-like habits. About 20% of rattan palm species are economically important and are traditionally used in Southeast Asia in the production of wicker furniture, baskets, canes, woven mats, ropes and other handicrafts. Rattan sticks are one of the world's most valuable non-timber forest products. Some varieties of rattan also have edible scaly fruit and a heart of palm. Despite increasing attempts at commercial cultivation over the past 30 years, almost all rattan products still come from wild-harvested plants. Rattan supplies are now rapidly threatened by deforestation and over-exploitation. Rattan was also historically known as Malacca reed or Manila reed, based on their trade origin, as well as numerous other trade names for individual species With many people becoming more environmentally conscious, buying vintage furniture is all the rage right now. Promoting responsible environmental behavior in a home has long surpassed discussions of chemicals and food and now uses objects, materials and paint.
