Louis XV Parcel Gilt Barometer

About the Item

The scrolled and rocaille carved case with a thermometer above a circular barometer dial painted with Adam and Eve, the dial inscribed "Baromètre Fait Par de Bianchy/Rue St. Martin No. 102/à Paris", the barometer dial surmounted by a carved Poseidon. Dated 1753 on the thermometer.
