Late 19th Century King Size American Mahogany Four Poster Bed
About the Item
This wonderful New York Four Poster bed has a simple poplar headboard and tester for draping. The mahogany foot post have a block spade foot below the bed bolts. The post continue up to a finely carved urn with tobacco leaves. There is a reeded cuff above the urn going up to reeded clusters with carved husk leaves at the base and capital. This exceptionally carved mahogany four poster bed has been converted, by our traditional cabinet-maker, to a king size bed for modern use. The king size mattress fits on top of the bed rails.

Wear consistent with age and use.
