Rare Antique 18th Century Chinese Chippendale Mahogany Four Post Tester Bed

About the Item

An Exceedingly Rare 18th century Chinese Chippendale Queen Size Tester Bed. The bed was showcased in the 1960s film From The Terrace with Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward and used in subsequent films by 20th century fox. Acquired from the 20th century Fox Memorabilia auction in 1961 held by Sotheby's in Los Angeles Features a solid mahogany frame with exceptionally carved detail. Includes geometric lattice designs along the headboard, ornate fretwork, turned fluted posts and an original hand painted neoclassical themed tester. The bed is supported by Marlborough legs with block feet. Dimensions: 72" x 86" x 93.5" / Rail Height - 15" / Inside - 63.5" x 80" (Width x Depth x Height).
