Mid Century G-Plan "Quadrille" Teak bedside table sidetable, R. BENNETT, 60s

About the Item

Mid century G-Plan teak table from their Quadrille range, designed in the 1960s by R Bennett. Finished in Teak and Afromosia with angular Scandinavian-influenced handles and shaped sleigh legs. Beautiful floating top, gorgeous tone and carved handles. Very rare piece of G Plan Stylish bedside table or night stand from the popular Quadrille range design by R Bennett in the late 60s. Wonderful minimal design finished in Teak veneer with Afromosia solid wood handles and signature solid Afromosia sleigh legs. Single drawer. Nearly square shape The range was made from about 1964-69 . The Quadrille range was produced by G Plan from about 1964 to the late 1960s , but never included bedside tables . At the time only ” continental headboards ” were made, so some people used all original G Plan pieces from 2 such headboards to create something that would not otherwise be available. The drawers were fixed to the back of the headboards and stood on one quadrille support . Saying that , to have this piece is a unique and very rare piece of furniture! This unit can also be used as side tables in the lounge or office. Condition: Very good condition Professionally restored, however, as with all vintage items some minor wear marks should be expected. Due to its new construction/purpose, it has not a back panel (it was attached to the headboard in its origin) Dimensions: 50 cm wide 45.7 cm depth 56 cm high Interior drawers: 44x38x10.5cm
