An alternative monumental version of our architectural Post-Modern oak & walnut pillar table/nightstands. Designed and handcrafted in England using traditional furniture and cabinetry techniques from fully quarter-sawn English Oak and American Black Walnut. The best English quarter-sawn oak displaying its magnificent medullary rays that are so prized by furniture makers and collectors the world over. Our distinctive hand-cut oversized dovetail jointing with turned walnut upright pillar piercing through the sections. These are intended as multi functioning pieces and can be used as nightstands and end tables etc. They are robust, substantial, bold and striking pieces of completely handmade furniture, built to last. Finished in highly durable eco-friendly oil. We are able to create other versions/adaptations of this design within practical parameters. We design bold and distinctive pieces of furniture – our main objective is combining the design alongside the natural beauty and properties of the raw materials. These timbers and materials are very carefully chosen for each specific design - maintaining our focus on the benefits, visual impact and strengths of what we use. Our regular use of English Quartersawn Oak is one case in point. It has been the beloved timber of fine furniture makers across the world for centuries. It is costly to produce but provides huge benefits and rewards such as its striking medullary rays and superb stability qualities. By utilising these wonderful and naturally occurring features with our contemporary designs we aim to continue creating some very distinct, tactile and idiosyncratic pieces.
