Pair of 19th Century French Louis XVI Carved Painted Chests of Drawers
About the Item
Complete your bedroom with this elegant pair of antique hand painted bedside cabinets. Crafted in France, circa 1880, each commode stands on tapered and fluted legs over a straight apron decorated with geometric motif. Each chest features three drawers across the front decorated with diamond motif panels and dressed with decorative brass pulls over matching escutcheons. Both sides are decorated with recessed panels and spline columns in the corners decorated with carved foliage embellishments. The surface is dressed with a hand painted faux marble top. The traditional Louis XVI style nightstands are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorn a rich textured patinated finish in the light grey and white palette. 2 Keys included.
