Renzo Rutili Ivory and Brass Nightstand Johnson Furniture Co., circa 1950

About the Item

Sophisticated brass glass and translucent Ivory lacquer over strongly grained walnut give this nightstand/ end table visual interest. Designed by Renzo Rutili, the head of design at Johnson Furniture for 30+ years. The case rests on gold toned brass cones. The nightstand needs restoration which we are in the process of addressing. The intention is conservation with in painting not re-lacquering. The four drawer pulls need attention, the dents in the brass trim seem irreversible so if you are looking for a piece that looks brand new this is not a piece that you would be happy owning. The glass appears to be in excellent condition.
