About the Item

Titled 24/7, this eye-catching handmade assemblage is a real working clock with a hand-operated calendar feature. Created by the husband and wife team of Van Dusen Clockworks, this towering folk art clock features an impressive collection of found objects. Starting at the top, the steel pulley becomes a monthly calendar wheel with red painted steel letters indicating each month of the year. Just below the calendar is an antique wire spoke baby carriage wheel that spotlights vintage wood bingo markers for each day of the month. The next segment of this lanky sculpture is a vintage candlepin bowling pin, which supports the round metal clock face with working pendulum, made from a red painted wood ball. Quite striking don't you think? {PUN} All of this imposing height is anchored by a large two-tone vintage steel lamp base. Hanging around the base is a chain mounted watch fob, which contains the name of the artwork and a brief list of key components. You'll also see an artist signed and numbered plaque on the back of the base. All the pieces you see here are all authentic found objects and artifacts.
