    A fully all over engraved gilt bronze carriage clock geneve circa 1870 and retailed in London by Aubert & Klaftenberger. The gorge case of characteristic design, profusely engraved to all sides with foliate scrolls and flowers on a matted ground, the signed Roman enamel dial with moon hands and subsidiary alarm within a gilt mask with conforming decoration, the signed two train spring barrel movement with lever platform escapement, striking the hour and half hour on a bell. 14.5cm (5.75ins) high with handle down, 9.5cm (3.75ins) wide, 8.5cm (3.375ins) deep. History: Aubert & Klaftenberger. The highly regarded retailer of clocks, watches silverware and objet d'art, Charles Ignaz Klaftenberger, was born in 1802 and entered into partnership with D.F.
