French mahogany balloon clock standing on brass bun feet with dentil moulding and brass inlay. Silvered dial with Roman numerals signed W.Barfoot, London. Eight day French movement striking the hours and halves on a coiled gong, circa 1875. 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World' by Brian Loomes lists William Barfoot as working in London, circa 1875-1881.
