Shi People, DRC, Ceremonial Sword
About the Item
The Shi are an ethnic group located in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, (Zaire), mainly located in the South Kivu province. This old sword has a long steel blade with a thick central ridge, small notch to the tip, the steel blade is covered in wooden scabbard and hilt with a very attractive dark glossy patination, which applies to the woven rattan bands as well.
