This 2005 American Fighter Aces Album includes signatures of all twenty-one fighter pilot “Aces” present at the 2005 AFAA Reunion in St. Louis, MO. All autographs are on the first pasted end paper and in various ink pens. The 453 internal pages are printed on glossy paper with one black and white photograph for most pilots. The book is housed in a sleek black custom archival slipcase. This album lists all fighter pilot Aces from the United States. First grouped by wars, then alphabetically, the list begins with the first Aces from World War I and ends with the last in the Vietnam War. A fighter pilot becomes and “Ace” when he/she is credited with at least 5 aerial combat victories, however that number has fluctuated over the years. Every entry receives a brief biography, a description of the plane flown, and most provide a photo of the pilot. In addition to the Aces, the album lists Aces with 20 or more victories and those that had received the Medal of Honor at the time of printing. This is a wonderful collection of the accomplished Aces throughout U.S. history full of fantastic details. Condition: Overall good condition. The bright white cloth boards are decorated with a silver, black, and gold embossed Ace. The boards are slightly rubbed and bumped at the bottom. The signatures on the first pasted end paper are all clear in various dark-colored ink pens. The binding is slightly loose and some printing glue is visible.
