The Big Shots, Edwardian Shooting Parties by Jonathan Garnier Ruffer. London: Debrett's Peerage Ltd., 1977. First edition hardcover with dust jacket. 144 pp. A book on Edwardian shooting parties by Dubrett who was known to be England's authority on etiquette and lineage for over 250 years. Shooting was the sport of large land owners and royalty during the Edwardian age. With the help of the railway and the technical improvements of the gun, shooting became more accessible as did the scale of the carnage. The Prince of Whales, later King Edward VII, had a passion for the sport which made it very fashionable at the time.
