First Edition hardcover with dust jacket. 168 pp. An essay accompanied by many beautiful illustrations describing the activities, collecting taste, and patronage for the years since World War II through 1958 written by the great British auction house, Christie's. Illustrations include: a Louis XIV silver gilt toilet service, a Louis XV marquetry table, the ascot gold cup and much more.
