Irish Houses and Castles by Desmond Guinness and William Ryan. NY: The Viking Press, 1974. Hardcover with dust jacket. 352 pp. In this book Desmond Guiness, President of the Irish Georgian Society, and his co-author William Ryan tell the history of Irish architecture from the period of the castle to Gothic revival. They describe each example ranging from Beaulieu (1660) to Glenveagh (1870) including the classical period (1725-50.) Included are: Castletown, Powerscourt, Russborough and Carton.
