New York Vertical, Photographs Book by Horst Hamann, 2000

About the Item

New York Vertical, English Book by Horst Hamann, 2000. This book offers a new perspective on New York, the American metropolis. This award-winning pictorial tribute to the world's most vertical city presents a unique introduction to New York's spectacular architecture. Using a vintage panoramic camera tilted ninety degrees. Hamann spent nearly five years painstakingly setting up shot after shot, often finding himself balancing precariously out a window ledge, patiently waiting for the perfect lighting conditions. His stark black and white compositions lend these photographs a dramatic, often dreamlike quality and offer unique reinterpretations of the world's most recognizable cityscapes. The result is an original and astonishing array of images, accompanied by quotations from some of the city's most ardent and well-known fans, that captures New York's towering presence in a way no other photographer ever has. This is a beautiful coffee table art book. Features: Title: New York Vertical. Author: Horst Hamann. Hardcover book. Language: English. Numerous black and white photographs. 165 pages. Dimensions: 6.32 in x 13 in (16 x 33 cm). Published in 2000 by Neues Publishing Company. The book is in good condition, with minor wear due to regular reading.

Paris 1925, French book by Armand Lanoux, published by Editions Robert Delpire, Paris in 1957. 1925, which only raised sarcasm yesterday, softened suddenly. We say retro for the fiftieth anniversary of the Decorative Arts. OK, go retro! Joséphine Baker, Charlot, la Violettera, bell bottoms, the threepenny franc, and Valentino reappear in our mythology. Einstein's surrealism, Picasso the Augustus and Cocteau the White Clown, Stravinsky, and Freud have not left her. With the lamé shirt...
