Pewter in America, Its makers and their marks, three volumes in one by Ledlie Irwin Laughlin, New York: American Legacy Press, 1981. First edition hardcover with dust jacket. 276 pp. A great resource book on the history of pewter in America with a list of makers and their marks. The first two volumes, originally printed in 1941, are on the development of original forms used in the colonies, the pewterers, their molds, their tools, invoices, letters, and marks. The third volume includes new information on pewterers discussed in the previous volumes, as well as fifty newly discovered makers.
