Excellent and lavishly illustrated reference surveying Cartier's work in platinum since the early years of the last century. This book presents hundreds of jewels, including necklaces with swags of diamonds, platinum-cased watches encrusted with rows of diamond pave settings, and flower-shaped brooches of rubies and emeralds. Also the diamond-and-platinum panther brooches, necklaces, rings and watches designed for the Duchess of Windsor.;
The book provides a fabulous look at one of the greatest jewellery houses. its treasures, and the people who made them. Illustrations of the jewels are augmented by archival photographs, sketches and working designs, many in colour.
