Quest for the Future by A. E. Van Vogt. Ace Books, New York, 1970. First edtion hardcover BCE with dust jacket. He was one of the most popular and prolific science fiction writers during the 1940s. He produced more than 40 short stories and 5 serialized novels. A travelling salesman named Drake, awakens in a hospital unable to remember anything from the last 2 weeks. The events are gradually explained in flashbacks and it turns out Drake is a time traveller.
