Midcentury Clear Aurora Borealis Prong Set Rhinestone Wedding or Pageant Crown

About the Item

This vintage crown is unsigned, but presumed to have originated from the United States and date to approximately 1955 and done in the period Mid-Century Modern style. The frame of the crown is done in a silver paste with hundreds of small and cut clear aurora borealis rhinestones of various sizes and shapes. The crown comes to four points from the top and has a six inch circular diameter with mounting loops around the inside of the base. The crown measures eight and a half inches across the top as it tapers slightly.

    Repaired: There is an old repair to three of the small rhinestone setting which appears to have had putty secure them as presented in the photos, and consistent with age and use. Wear consistent with age and use. Some light surface wear to the paste backing and some small stones may show edge wear as presented in the photos, and consisent with age and use.
