Amazing vintage Moroccan Caftan, black silk damask heavily with gold threads. Circa 1960's The black heavy damask kaftan was entirely made by hand, fully lined. One of a kind evening antique Moorish gown. This authentic caftan has been hand-sewn from high end damask fabric intricately embroidered with silk threads rim. The Moroccan kaftan features a traditional neckline, gently fluted embellished sleeves. It closes at the front with woven buttons and loops. Fully lined. In Morocco, fashion preserves its traditional style inherited from great civilizations that found their way to Northwest Africa, such as the ottomans and the Turks. Moroccan fashion has been recognized for its style and has garnered a reputation, winning awards in international fashion shows throughout Europe. Marrakech Bohemian, Yves Saint Laurent style. This luxury caftan is in perfect condition, dry cleaned and ready to wear. The caftan is perfect for a man or woman, Dress measurement flat: Shoulder: 17.5" (seam to seam) Sleeve: 21" (shoulder seam to cuff) Chest: 25" (armpit to armpit) Waist: 30" (narrowest point) Hip: 35" (measured 6" below waist) Total length: 57" (centre back to hem; excluding collar) Hand crafted by Moroccan artist designer, this is a one of a kind caftan, inspired by the tales of princess of the Arabian Nights. The Kaftan is a long and wide tunic, collarless, long-sleeved, worn by man and women. The Moroccan kaftans inspired European and global designers as Yves Saint Laurent, Valentino, and many more who made the caftan famous in the 1960s and 1970s. Hand made in Morocco.
