Clothing Press in Oak Wood, Holland, 19th Century
About the Item
Clothing press in oakwood, Holland, 19th century. On four turned legs (three of them secured with a straight chambrana) the press rises, with a drawer underneath. As it is a purely utilitarian piece of furniture, it has hardly any decorative elements. The oakwood used in its manufacture was chosen for its hardness and resistance, since these presses were used to smooth the clothes as much as possible."
