Pair of Original Anti-Vietnam War & Anti-President Nixon Posters on Heavy Paper
About the Item
This set of two vintage posters were produced in Vietnam in the early 1970s in protest of the Vietnam War and in particular President Nixon. These colorful posters are done on a thick, possibly handmade parchment type rice paper and are printed in a Folk Art style. The smaller of the two posters depicts a large bomb with the letter "N" on it, falling behind a clenched fist and over a young child playing an instrument while on the back of a large bull poised to charge. The larger poster depicts President Nixon as a big ape with a green face holding a bomb in one hand, and blood dripping from the other. This poster is signed at the top and dated 1972 and appears to have a hand-written message on the bottom. Both posters have slogans in bold letters written in Vietnamese which we have not had translated. The colors of the posters are bright and vivid, and are two examples of propaganda against the United States war effort in Vietnam from the perspective of the Vietnamese.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. No damage identified to either poster in the form of rips or stains. There may be light crease from being stored. The posters are currently in plastic posters frames for their protection and may require re-framing.
